COURSE DESCRIPTION
Updates in Internal Medicine is designed to present up-to-date information as well as contemporary approaches/strategies to the ever-changing and expanding discipline of internal medicine. The program will attempt to cover the scope of internal medicine, selecting from a variety of pertinent general and sub-specialtyderived topics. Expert faculty will present evidence-based and emerging practical clinical approaches, regarding various general and sub-specialty topics.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, particpants should be able to:

  • Summarize recent updates, clinical studies, and new guidelines that impact practice in general medicine
  • Describe updates in novel oral anticoagulant management
  • Summarize common clinical pearls in the areas of general internal medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology
  • Review cases in quality management
  • Review cases in dermatology
  • Summarize HIV management

INTENDED AUDIENCE
Practicing general internists, family practice physicians, sub-specialists, and advanced practitioners in need of practice updates.

Participant will earn 10 ABIM Medical Knowledge points through ABIM.  Information for receiving ABIM credit will be available at the course.
Participants should not claim AMA PRA Category 1TM credits  through ABIM.  AMA PRA Category 1TM credits are provided through Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

2017-2018 Update in Hospital Medicine (10:15-12:15 pm)
Participant will earn 10 ABIM Medical Knowledge points through ABIM. Information for receiving ABIM credit will be available at the course.
Participants should not claim AMA PRA Category 1TM credits  through ABIM.  AMA PRA Category 1TM credits are provided through Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.

A certificate of attendance will be provided to other health care professionals for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies, or other professional associations.
